Subcommittee Overview
The BLUER Residential Subcommittee is focused on helping to get our residents - renters, homeowners, and landlords alike - to take actions to protect the safety and security of our community and community members. We’re focusing on helping to educate residents about the things they can do that help them save money but also help us achieve our goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the borough. These behaviors can be small, but they add up.
Exploring Opportunities
This committee will explore these opportunities, promote reduced home energy use and increased home energy efficiency in the borough and work with other organizations that share our common interest. Read about some of our ideas below and track our initiatives on the right side panel.
We've launched the BLUER Residential Challenge. You've probably seen these door hangers (PDF) around town. We hope you’ll sign up for the challenge and consider joining our subcommittee. We’d like to hear your ideas and suggestions.
What You Can Do Now
BLUER has compiled a list of specific actions that these groups in our community can take:

Helpful Suggestion
Our friends in the Girl Scout Troop in Lexington, Kentucky have suggested the site, Going Green In Your Home, for reducing the environmental footprint of your home. Thanks, girls. This is a great suggestion.
