Borough Council Accepting Applications for Appointments to our Boards and Commissions
West Chester Borough Council is accepting applications for volunteer positions for the following :
- Recreation Commission
- West Chester Library Board
- Railroad Restoration Commission
- Historic Commission
- Human Relations Commission
- West Chester Redevelopment Authority
- Planning Commission
- Tree Commission
The Recreation Commission makes recommendations on the development, supervision, maintenance and regulation of public park and recreation areas and facilities located in the Borough.
West Chester Library Board directs the operation of the West Chester Public Library.
Railroad Restoration Commission advises the Council on issues related to restoring commuter rail service.
Historic Commission advocates for the preservation of historic resources and provides information to the public, Borough, County, and Commonwealth.
Human Relations Commission is responsible for setting meetings and coordinating with the West Chester Borough Manager regarding received complaints and answers.
Redevelopment Authority operates for the public purpose of the elimination of areas or properties in need of redevelopment through economically and socially sound redevelopment.
Planning Commission advises Council on planning and zoning matters
Tree Commission advises Council on tree-related matters
Those persons interested in being considered for the volunteer positions on these Boards and Commissions are required to submit a letter of interest and a copy of their resume or biography to Dana DiDomenico, Assistant to the Borough Manager, via email firstname.lastname@example.org. Individuals submitting a letter of interest and a copy of their resume or biography by that deadline will be contacted to schedule an interview time. Deadline for submissions is November 20, 2019
