The West Chester Borough supports our Local Businesses and Main Street

With the success of last year’s Gay Street Closure, the Borough Manager’s office and the West Chester Business Improvement District, are pleased to announce Borough Council has approved an application to PennDOT to close four blocks of Gay Street from May 1, 2021 to August 29, 2021, allowing our businesses to operate in the public right of way.   The Borough Council will consider extensions beyond the August 29, 2021 end-date and will discuss further extensions at upcoming Borough Council meetings.

Notify Me to Be Retired as We Move to ReadyChesco

Did you know that we have a "Request Tracker" service on on website. With Request Tracker you can report problems such as potholes, trash violations, low hanging wires and more directly to the correct department. When you do this we receive an email ALERT and will work on the problem - and notify you of the service status as we work to address the problem.

NON-FLUSHABLE ITEMS CAUSE PROBLEMS IN SEWER SYSTEMS

The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is encouraging all Pennsylvanians to only flush toilet paper and hu? man waste, not disinfecting wipes or other non-flushable items that should be disposed of in the trash. Sewage treatment facilities have been dealing with an increase in non-flushable materials that clog filters and equipment since the beginning of the stay-at-home orders in March.
