  1. SEWER RATE STUDY



    A comprehensive sewer rate study was presented to Borough Council at their August 21, 2019 meeting.   Borough Council will be discussing these rate scenarios at their public meetings during the next several months. 


    The public is welcome and encouraged to review and comment on these documents. All public meeting dates and times are posted on our website. 


    Plastic Bags Banned in West Chester

    West Chester Borough Council voted 4-3 on July 17 to ban single-use plastic bags and disposable plastic straws.
    The ban is set to take effect on July 2, 2020. Our Sustainability Director as well as the Sustainability Committee will be conducting an educational campaign in the months to come.

    NEW TREE ORDINANCE

    West Chester Borough Council adopted Ordinance No, 12-2019 - Chapter 102 Trees. This new ordinance brings with it several proposes, including prioritizing a full and healthy urban tree canopy by creating sound regulations and incentives for the proper planting, removal, maintenance, and protection of trees along streets, sidewalks, and right of way, and trees with parks and public open spaces.
