First & Final Collections
Residents are instructed to not pile up leaves for curbside collection until the last week of October as collection does not begin until Monday October 28th. Please be sure to finish placing piles out for collection by the Sunday before your final collection week. The Borough will not collect leaves after the final scheduled collection week in the middle December.
Leaves are not to be placed out for trash collection as all leaves and yard waste collected within the Borough of West Chester are composted. When placing leaves out for collection, please be sure there are no tree branches, limbs or stones in the leaf piles. These objects can damage the leaf collection equipment.
Leaves may also be placed out on your regular yard waste collection days in biodegradable paper bags. Yard waste, however, will not be collected during leaf collections. Yard waste, such as garden debris, vines, and small vegetative matter should be placed out on your designated yard waste collection day(s) or delivered to the drop-off site as described on the yard waste page.
