West Chester Growers Market Update

The Borough is not closing, moving, or disrupting the WCGM and has no plans to do so.

The information being spread about the Borough closing the Growers Market is completely inaccurate.  We are currently working to renew the current lease with the WCGM for 2017-2018 lease period.  During this lease period the Borough expects to begin renovation on its muni building, and MAY need to relocate its muni operations to another location.  No location has been identified.  If relocation is necessary, and if that relocation is to space in the town center and if parking needs of the relocated muni operations cannot be met in borough's parking garages, only then would the Borough need to possibly use lot 10 on a Saturday when the WCGM is in operation.

The Borough believes that the WCGM is a valuable asset to the community, and would disrupt its lease only in an emergency or if the needs of public safety required it.  The Borough would, in such a scenario, work closely with the WCGM leadership to find an alternate location for the WCGM to operate.

The Borough is not closing, moving, or disrupting the WCGM and has no plans to do so.
