West Chester, Pennsylvania [26 April 2017]:

Borough Council has unanimously appointed former Ward 4 Council member Jordan Norley as Mayor of the Borough of West Chester. Mr. Norley will fill the unexpired term of former Mayor Carolyn Comitta, who won election to fill the role of Representative for the 156th District of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. Mr. Norley’s term will expire on Monday, 1 January 2018. Mr. Norley brings over six years’ experience as a member of Council, and former President of Council, to the position of Mayor.

Borough Council has unanimously appointed Michael Stefano to fill the vacant Ward 4 Council seat. Mr. Stefano previously served on the Borough’s Zoning Hearing Board. Borough Council has also unanimously appointed Bernard Flynn to fill the Ward 6 Council seat vacancy created when Jim Jones resigned in March. Mr. Flynn is employed by the Sherwin Williams Paint Co. as a leader in its healthcare products division, was a professional collegiate basketball referee for 41 years, and leads the Borough’s anti-graffiti program.

Both Mr. Stefano’s and Mr Flynn’s appointments expire on Monday, 1 January 2018. Elections to fill the remaining unexpired time for those two Council seats will be held at the November 2017 general election.
